Notice to Our Citizens: For your protection, please make sure that anyone you hire to do work at your residence is properly licensed for the job they are performing and have the necessary permits.

These contractors/businesses should have a current, valid City of Geneva Business License. The license should say City of Geneva at the top and bear the City Clerk's signature at the bottom.

There are several types of license that can be issued, make sure the license is appropriate for the job you are having performed. Example: Someone preforming work to a roof where the cost exceeds $2,500.00 must have a roofing license or home builder’s license.

You should always ask to see a copy of a contractor’s City Business License. If you have any questions about the type of license needed or the contractor tells you he/she does not need a particular license, call the City Clerk’s office (334-684-2485) to verity the correct information.

At 9:30 pm tonight, Red Cross will open an emergency disaster shelter at the Geneva Community Center located at 411 N. Iris Street for anyone in need.

This is a NO pet facility.

Capacity will be 75 people. If this facility fills to capacity other facilities will be announced at that time.

Door to door Trick-or-Treat for the City of Geneva and Trick-or-Treat at the Junction will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

PUBLIC NOTICE

US Representative Barry Moore will hold a town hall meeting on July 29, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the City Council room at City Hall located at 606 E. Magnolia Avenue. The public is invited to attend this meeting.

All City roads will be closed Tuesday, January 21st from 3:00 P.M.until 7:00 A.M. Wednesday January 22nd to all non essential traffic. Please use extreme caution if you must travel.

Due to the forecast for impending inclement weather, the Geneva City Council meeting has been rescheduled to 2:00 p.m on Tuesday, January 21st. The meeting will be at the current City Hall location.

City of Geneva Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected Wednesday.

The City of Geneva is accepting applications for the position of part-time (30 hours per week) Library Aide. This is a clerical and custodial position.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from a standard high school or GED. One (1) year clerical experience preferred.

Applications are available in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall or on the City’s website at genevaal.gov. Applications should return to the City Clerk’s Office or emailed to [email protected]. Position will remain open until filled.
