Our offices are closed today in recognition of Juneteenth which celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The name is a combination of "June" and "nineteenth," referring to June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger and Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and announce freedom to the last enslaved people in the state. How do you celebrate?!
