Geneva Fire Dept along with many mutual aid departments gave up a beautiful Sat morning to attend training and sharpen our skills. Training started with an indoor session about helicopter ground school and proceeded to the hospital landing zone to familiarize ourselves with Mercy Flight Centrals helicopter. After that we had a live fire simulator of a helicopter fire should something ever go wrong. Almost 60 firefighters attended this training

Geneva Fire responded to smoke outside the structure on Union Street. The first unit on the scene requested a full response for a fire on the outside of the house. Engine 1112 pulled an 1- 3/4 handline and quickly knocked down the fire ,Crews checked for extensions and fire was contained to the outside of the house and door frame . West Lake Road provided a fast team ,White Springs on standby on their floor, Mercy Ambulance and Geneva Police Department also assisted.
