Be on the lookout for Monarch Roosts. Monarch roosts are temporary, nightly gatherings of monarch butterflies that occur during their fall migration. These solitary migrants cluster together in trees, forming "roosts" or "bivouacs" to rest and find shelter from wind, cold temperatures, and predators. Roosting helps monarchs conserve energy and survive their long journey to their overwintering grounds in Mexico
