We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that helped with today's fire. Latah County Sheriff's Office, for the traffic control. Moscow Volunteer Fire & Ambulance & Moscow Rural Fire for the trucks and personnel. City of Genesee for help with water and utilities. And last, but not least, Avista Corp for the help with the power. We are always very humbled at how quickly our calls for service are answered when we need them. Thank you!

Quick action with our crews on Truck1, 5 , and Tender1 stopped a fast moving fire along Central Grade Rd. Multiple other crews from Nezperce Tribe, IDL, and NPCF were on scene as well. Air support was spot on

Our hearts are heavy today as the news of yesterday’s tragic active shooter incident spreads through our Fire and EMS community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, Coeur d’ Alene Fire Department, and all first responders impacted by this tragedy.

We hold our brothers and sisters in the Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement close to our hearts today. We stand with you in sorrow and extend our deepest sympathy and support.

Update: the dog has been found!

Genesee area residents and any others traveling Highway 95 south of Genesee keep your eyes out for a large dog who disappeared from an accident scene. The dog is a mixed breed plot hound and Aussie. Dog’s name is Ahsaka and is brindlish color withwhite chest. We have a contact number if you see it.

This evening, representatives from Lapwai, Culdesac, Wheatland Fire, and LCSO Dispatch participated in landing zone training with us, promoting interagency cooperation and enhancing our emergency response capabilities. We appreciate Life Flight Network for providing this opportunity.

Did you know????

Genesee Community Firemen, Inc. is a non-profit organization within our community. The firemen are all volunteers and own the ambulance. They do not receive tax dollars for the operation of the ambulance. They rely on donations, billing, grants, and fundraisers to buy and maintain supplies and equipment.
We have 6 Volunteer EMT/Firemen. The rest of the firemen and women on our roster help with ambulance calls too! They drive, help lift, perform CPR and any other tasks an EMT needs help with.
2024 was our busiest Ambulance year to date. In 2024 our 6 EMT’s responded to 123 calls for ambulance service (not counting standbys).
This was a 33% increase over 2023 (83 calls).
