Standing on an acre of gardens just three blocks from the ocean, nestled along Neacoxie Creek is this beautiful old livery stable saved from demolition. This gracious building and site is here to host activitie

s and events for community gatherings including music, art, lectures, classes, food, fun, and family celebrations. This building is one of the last standing wooden livery stables in the united states, and the oldest building in the small town of Gearhart, Oregon. Built in 1890 it served as the transportation hub for the towns folk housing horses and buggies that ferried local residents and visitors alike to the early homes, golf course, and local hotel. Today having stood for more than a 100 years it is finding a new 21st century use as an authentic and warm gathering place for people to connect through music, laughter, and sharing. With it's original wood beams, floors, and ten foot wide doors, hayloft, and original stalls it stands as a great reminder of our past - and is being refurbished with new lighting, serving areas, and boardwalks for a new life today. Built to last we hope you'll support the Neacoxie Creek barn b calling to book your next activity, provide a donation, or support our kickstarter campaign!

Thanks to all wonderful "barn angels" we will be re-launching our fundraising campaign for the Gearhart Livery Stable in just a few days!

Please check out this link to our full interview with Bob McEwan about his early days in Gearhart and his years working at the barn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2SDLIhK1UA

Your belief in this project and the preservation of this building through a new use not only saves our past history - it helps to create future memories and new history for us to share.

We will announce two more "live" events in February to build enthusiasm for what Neacoxie Creek is all about. Come and experience the vision for this beautiful building.

We will share new resources, connections, and cool endorsements and ways you can have fun joining in to help. Please reach out if you have crazy ideas, or fun suggestions for us to explore.

New people have been joining in every day to offer to help, or provide art, new services, elbow grease and enthusiasm to both raise funds or increase awareness. We'll share with you soon what you can do.

Those of you who know me - get that this is a labor of love... and I found inspiration recently from a quote by Nelson Mandela who said "It always seems impossible until it is done." Thank you to all who are helping to make this building come alive again to help make new memories in this most special of towns.
