In honor of National Police Week, please join us in thanking the officers of the Ga***rd Police Department for their service in helping to keep our community safe. From responding to emergencies, patrolling our streets, and supporting community events, our officers are committed to keeping Ga***rd a great place to live, work, and play.

This week, we thank our officers and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Their commitment to service and enduring legacy will not be forgotten.

The Diverging Diamond Project on I75 and M32 is starting this year, and MDOT has provided some great tools to visualize what it will look like after completion. The image below is an overhead shot of the project, and the link attached is a press release that includes more information, as well as videos that show what some of the most common routes will look like after the project is complete. We will continue to post information as the work gets closer. The project webpage will be in the comments of this post so that you can stay up to date. Our wastewater infrastructure has experienced an increase in clogs due to flushable wipes.

Despite their name, “flushable” wipes do not break down like toilet paper. These products, along with paper towels, feminine hygiene products, and similar items, do not disintegrate in water. Instead, they accumulate in our sewer lines, creating serious blockages that can lead to:

- Sewage backups into homes and streets
- Costly emergency repairs
- Unsanitary conditions in our community
- Higher maintenance costs

Please only flush the 3 P’s: P*e, Poo, and toilet Paper.

Everything else belongs in the trash, including:

- “Flushable” wipes (baby wipes, personal hygiene wipes, cleaning wipes)
- Paper towels and napkins
- Feminine hygiene products
- Cotton swabs and cotton balls
- Dental floss
- Medication
- Cooking grease or oil

The video below, created by the Great Lakes Water Authority, shows the effects of flushable wipes on our Sewer System. Please be advised, this video contains footage of actual clogs, which some viewers may find graphic.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
