🐾Therapy Animals🐾

What exactly is a therapy dog? How is a therapy dog different from a service animal or an emotional support animal? And what does it take for a dog and handler to become a certified therapy team?

Join us at the Otsego County Library for an informative and engaging program all about therapy dogs with Judy Gatewood-Keim and Cathi Gatewood-Keim, founders of Northern Michigan Pet Partners. Judy and Cathi will explain the important role therapy animals play in schools, libraries, healthcare facilities, hospice programs, counseling services, and assisted living communities.

Along with discussing the training, evaluation, and certification process required to become a therapy animal team, Judy will also share her experiences with Sprocket, her longtime therapy dog. Mark your calendars and come learn how you and your pet could become involved in this rewarding work!

Today's fall staff pick from Nick is, "Bonfire of the Murdochs" by Gabriel Sherman.

"A brisk real life succession story about a consequential family. A family drama about resentments and rivalries that exploded beyond what anyone could have imagined. This was the family that inspired the show Succession. If you enjoyed that show or learning about powerful families with far reaches then this book is highly recommended. "
