I gave a speech on this very recently.
"Hope is the act of humanity in action. Hope drives us forward. Hope fuels our protests and our fights, knowing that a better future is out there and drives us to reach for it. Hope grants us our ingenuity, our indomitable human spirit. It gives us the strength to face the most impossible of odds, because despite the fact that things will only go from bad to worse, we can envision a future where that is no longer the case.

So I challenge you- each and every single one of you- to find hope. Look within yourselves, look to your despair and reframe it. Is despair not hope itself? Is despair not seeing the future set out before us, and desperately wishing to the core of our beings for it to change?
Do not let that wish blind you! Do not let that wish take you into complacency! We have to fight for our future!"
Hope comes from the place where the hurt comes.
