Your work has a profound impact on those in our care and on the safety of our communities, and your commitment is truly appreciated.

The Crain Unit celebrated Employee Appreciation on Monday with a special lunch catered by Celebrity Chef Felicia Guimont. Staff enjoyed chicken, shrimp, or steak pasta with fresh salad and bread, followed by specialty pies and brownies.For the past year, Chef Fee has generously supported our team and those we serve—lifting spirits and making everyone feel valued. We are grateful for her dedication and the joy she brings to our staff and to the ladies of Crain. Thank you, Chef Fee!

A huge thank you to Derrick Harris of D’Z BBQ in Duncanville for providing our 1-Card Correctional Officers with delicious BBQ sandwiches and sausage. It is always bussin’—every single time! The meal was topped off with amazing cookies donated by Crain’s very own Gloria Davila of the Prison Fellowship Academy.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and gave to the Crain Unit. Much love to all of you—your generosity and heart mean more than you know.

The Crain Unit proudly held its 2026 Memorial Service in solemn tribute to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

With profound respect, we honored the memory of our own Officer Shana Tedder, who gave her life in service in 2017. In a moment of deep reverence, a commemorative cross was presented to her daughter, Ms. Tai Tedder, as a lasting symbol of her mother’s courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to duty.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our honored guests—Ms. Constance Brown, Mr. Derrick Harris, Ms. Katrina Harris, Director Cozby, and Mr. Ethan Arthur of the Gatesville High School Band—for their presence and meaningful contributions, which helped elevate the dignity and significance of this ceremony.
