The Scott County Sheriff’s Office joins the Buchanan County community in mourning the passing of former Sheriff Ray Foster.

A Sheriff’s service is measured not only by the years spent wearing the badge, but by the people whose lives are touched along the way. Sheriff Foster devoted a significant part of his life to the responsibility of leading, protecting, and serving the people of Buchanan County.

Today, we remember that commitment and the legacy he leaves behind. We also recognize the family, friends, and former colleagues who shared in the sacrifices that came with a life dedicated to public service.

On behalf of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our sincere condolences to everyone who knew Sheriff Foster and to the Buchanan County community he served.

May his years of service be remembered with pride, and may his legacy continue through those who follow in his footsteps.

Rest in peace, Sheriff.
