Due to President Trump’s visit to Gastonia on Wednesday, September 16th, significant road closures, detours, and traffic delays are expected. The impacted areas will generally include: East of US 321, South of I-85, and West of the South New Hope Road Area. The Gastonia Police Department suggests avoiding this area between 2pm and 10pm if possible. Piedmont Community Charter School will dismiss at 11:30 a.m., and all students must be picked up by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. This will allow our staff time to travel home before road closures begin.

Through Core Knowledge, 1st grade investigates geographical features of the Earth. Last week, Piedmont welcomed Keep Gastonia Beautiful, Inc. who presented their Hands On Dirt program to our 1st grade classes. Students felt the textures of sand, silt, and clay, learned about local soil and how it helps plants grow! 🌱

We have some familiar faces on our PCCS staff -- six Piedmont graduates ranging from the Class of 2016 to 2023. They went on to further their education, and now we're proud to have them here as a part of our team!

Piedmont reinforces the core value of Character and recognizes the Patriots of the Month! For August, elementary teachers recognized the character trait of Self-Control in their classes. Middle school celebrated the trait of Integrity and recognized the top recipients of teacher nominations. Congratulations to these outstanding students! ✨

⭐️🎉 EXCITING NEWS FOR PCCS! 🎉⭐️

We are proud to share that Piedmont earned an overall grade of 75 B on the NC School Report Card for the 2025-26 school year!

The results showed:
📈 A 9 point increase over the previous year

⭐️ ALL student groups exceeded growth

🎓 A graduation rate of 100%!

This achievement reflects the consistent hard work of our students, staff, and families, and we thank you for your continued partnership. We are excited to build on this momentum as PCCS continues its mission of offering a superior college preparatory educational option for this community and its families.
