what3words is a free smartphone app that has divided the entire world into 10ft x 10ft squares and assigned each square a unique combination of three words. For example: β€œapple.tree.house.”

This is especially helpful when you are:
β€’ On a trail or rural road
β€’ At a large event or park
β€’ Traveling and unsure of your exact location
β€’ In areas without clear addresses
β€’ Reporting crashes, medical emergencies, or fires in hard-to-find locations

At 911, we can use your what3words location to quickly pinpoint exactly where you are and relay that information directly to responders. This can save valuable time when every second matters.

βœ… Download the free what3words app today on your Apple or Android device
βœ… Learn how it works before an emergency happens
βœ… Be prepared to share your 3-word location with 911 if needed

While calling 911, always try to provide the best location information possible, including addresses, landmarks, mile markers, or intersections. what3words is another tool that can help us get help to you faster.

Stay safe, stay prepared, and help us help you. πŸš“πŸš‘πŸš’
