Serving the municipality of Gary Indiana and the Unincorporated area of our Township. Under the leadership of current Trustee Tai Adkins, the Calumet Township Trustee Office is responsible for providing life’s basic supporting needs. Applications for assistance are processed between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Type of Services Available:
Housing - Housing assistance for rent or mortgage

Utilities/Fuel - Assistance can be provided for current utility bills

Food - Food vouchers can be provided for households not receiving food stamps

Transportation - Transportation to eligible person who is stranded and request to be sent to his/her place of legal residence. Burials - Assistance is available for deceased family members who lived in Calumet Township

Traveler’s Aid - Assistance can be provided for qualifying applicants stranded in Calumet Township and need help returning to legal residence within the U. by means of a one way bus ticket. Medical Expenses - Doctor’s visits, Prescriptions, Diagnostics, Dental and Eye Care

NOTE: All services are provided based on compliance to eligibility requirements

Calumet Township has received reports that some residents in the Woodlake Village community & immediate surrounding areas may still be experiencing displacement and hardship following the severe weather that impacted our area this week.

If you are a resident of Woodlake Village & immediate surrounding area currently displaced without stable accommodations we encourage you to contact our office immediately.

Our team is actively working to coordinate temporary assistance and provide support to residents who may still be impacted.
