Don’t fall for it! Scammers are launching a different way of targeting local residents. They’re sending phony arrest warrants hoping to fool people into sending them cash to avoid arrest. The fake warrants are often sent by email, and they even suggest several electronic payment services that can be used.
We removed the name of the target of the scam, but you can see the fraudsters faked the signatures for the judge and clerk. It’s all an effort to make the document look real and scare people into paying to resolve the “warrant” .
If you see a document like this one, NEVER SEND ANY MONEY no matter how threatening it sounds.
We NEVER demand electronic payments.

United Way Northwest Indiana is providing storm recovery assistance to eligible residents in Lake and Porter Counties who experienced financial hardship as a result of the severe storms.
