📣 HELP US GET THE WORD OUT!

Know a farmer who could benefit from funding? A lake community working on a conservation project? A municipality with a project in the works? An elected official, school, nonprofit or community organization that should know about this opportunity?

Tag them below and share this post! 🌱

The more people who know about these resources, the more we can put this funding to work protecting Putnam County’s land, water and natural resources.

🌱 WE’RE BACK AND WE’RE PUTTING CONSERVATION TO WORK! 🌱

The Putnam County Soil & Water Conservation District is excited to announce the launch of our first Conservation Grant Program, with $180,000 in funding available for conservation projects across Putnam County.

A lot of work has gone into rebuilding our District, restoring its independence, strengthening its operations and creating a greater impact for the people and natural resources of Putnam County.

Today, we’re putting that work into action.

💧 $180,000 IN CONSERVATION FUNDING

Rolling Applications: Through December 1, 2026, subject to available funding.

We want to support the people who are already doing the work: farmers, lake communities, municipalities, schools, nonprofits, community organizations and other eligible applicants with ideas that can make a real difference here at home.

This is more than the launch of a grant program. It represents what can happen when a local conservation district has the independence, resources and ability to do the job it was created to do.

We’re rebuilding. We’re investing. And we’re putting conservation dollars to work in Putnam County. 🌱

Good news from Putnam County!

Last night, the Putnam County Legislature unanimously approved Legislator Nancy Montgomery’s latest food-security initiative, securing another $150,000 to support organizations serving Putnam residents facing food insecurity.

This marks the second major food-security funding initiative Montgomery has advanced in just a few weeks - putting County resources where they can make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.

At a time when Putnam is having an important conversation about how to use its substantial fund balance, we believe this is part of the answer: invest taxpayer dollars back into the community through services and programs that directly benefit residents.

Good government means putting taxpayer dollars to work for Putnam.
And we’re especially proud that Legislator Montgomery got this one through the finish line - this one passed unanimously.

This is what public money is for: public good.

The race is heating up! Tell your friends and neighbors in Putnam County that this is the year we will elect a Democratic County Executive who not only has the ideas, energy and commitment to be a great leader for our County, but also has a clear path to victory.

An Interview with Democrat Brett Yarris. Do we have a ‘Tax & Hoard’ policy in Putnam County?

Today I'm honored to announce that CSEA , the union representing Putnam County's own government employees, has endorsed my campaign for Putnam County Executive. Think about what that means. This isn't an outside group weighing in on county politics. This is the very workforce of Putnam County

We need straight talk from our County Executive, not fear mongering. It is possible for Putnam to have such a County Executive - Vote For Brett Yarris!

Leadership is about making sure the people we serve have the facts and the truth, rather than try to stoke fear with inflammatory rhetoric.

Here is my statement about “Local Crimes, Local Cops” going into effect, and what it means for Putnam County.

Cait for Congress!

Career political operative Mike Lawler is lying again — trying to make his record of voting 100% of the time with Donald Trump seem like a good thing.

In his new ad, Mike touts his deciding vote for Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” What he “doesn’t mention is the vastly larger number of people who lost affordable health care or access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as a result of the bill.” He also conveniently leaves out the “bill’s tax cuts for corporations and wealthy Americans.”

At the end of the day, Mike Lawler will always look out for corporations and his billionaire buddies at our expense. That’s why on November 3rd, we’ll send him packing.
