Congratulations to Travis Layne on completing the New Castle County Firefighter I & II Academy Program. Unfortunately, due to multiple nights of rain, this year’s carnival was heavily impacted and as our second largest fundraiser of the year, fell well short of what it normally brings in for our fire company.

Many members of the community have asked how they can still support the fire company following the weather-related cancellations. Donations can be made directly through the Donate button on our website: Bethelfire.com or through our Venmo account: venmo.com/BethelHoseCompany

We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and continues to support our firefighters and our organization.

Due to ongoing heavy rainfall and additional rain expected in the forecast, the carnival scheduled for Saturday night has been cancelled.

We remain hopeful for improved weather conditions on Sunday, and have a call into Mother Nature to help out. We have not received a return call as of yet.

The final day of the carnival is tomorrow, with operating hours from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thank you to everyone who attended despite challenging weather. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

The department is certainly grateful for the much-needed rain, but we are disappointed that it arrived during the week of our carnival. One of our favorite parts of carnival week is seeing families, especially the kids, come out to enjoy the rides, games, and some delicious treats. The carnival is also one of our largest fundraisers of the year, and unfortunately, a successful turnout is highly dependent on good weather.

Due to the rain causing us to cancel multiple nights this week, we were able to work with the carnival company to have them stay in town for one additional day. The carnival will now also be open on Sunday, May 24th, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. At this time, the carnival is still scheduled for this evening and tomorrow evening from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm both nights. Any additional weather-related cancelations will be posted on this page and our website (www.bethelfire.com). Please come out, enjoy the rides, grab some food, and help support our all-volunteer fire department. Please email any carnival-related questions to [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support!

Thursday evening’s carnival is canceled due to the weather. We will continue to post additional carnival schedule updates on this page and our website (www.bethelfire.com). Thank you.

Yesterday, members of Bethel Township Hose Company No. 1 assisted with the Garnet Valley High School Mock Crash program ahead of prom weekend.

The scenario highlighted the dangers of impaired driving and gave students a realistic look at the consequences of poor decisions behind the wheel.

We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside Concordville Fire & Protective Association, Chester Heights Fire Co., Main Line Health EMS, and the PA State Police to help make this event possible.
