staff came together for Opening Day to reconnect with colleagues, hear key updates from district leadership and prepare for the return of students next week. Staff heard from retired U.S. Army SSG Travis Mills, a veteran and quadruple amputee who shared his story of service, sacrifice and resilience after sustaining injuries while serving in Afghanistan. As our nation commemorates its 250th anniversary, his message serves as a powerful reminder of the courage and sacrifice of those who have defended the freedoms and ideals upon which our nation was founded. 🇺🇸

Throughout the program, Superintendent Dr. Kris Felicello, Deputy Superintendent Anthony Zollo, Board of Education President Peggy Zugibe, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Community Relations Eric Baird and NRTA President Brenda Hayes shared remarks as the district looks ahead to the 2026-27 school year. ❤️ Here’s to a great year!

September is finally here and you know what that means... it’s almost time to head back to school! 🍎 With the first day just one week away (September 8 ), our hallways have already started coming back to life. Students and families recently stopped by for open houses, giving students a chance to explore their new classrooms, meet teachers and administrators, learn about expectations and get a glimpse of the year ahead.

The green light is on...and the North Rockland High School Marching Band and Color Guard are ready to go! Their production of The Great Gatsby is taking shape as band members and the Color Guard learn music and rehearse routines, all while setting their sights on another USBands New York State Championship title. But before the season officially gets underway, there’s a big night ahead. This Friday, September 4, at 7 p.m., the varsity football team will take on the Nyack RedHawks for the first time in over 42 years, with a special performance from the marching band.

Just TWO years ago, our NRHS campus looked like this after Phase One was completed.😲 Casarella Field at Ralph Cordisco Stadium had just been redone, the pavilion and basketball courts were newly built, and the baseball field was still there! You can even spot some of the equipment JV football used for practice.🧐

We’ve definitely come a long way since then! What’s your favorite addition to our campus?⬇️

Day 2 of New Teacher Orientation was all about getting to know North Rockland! ❤️

Our newest hit the road for a tour of the district, visiting each school and meeting the building leaders who make each community unique. And while every school has its own personality, one theme kept coming up again and again: North Rockland is a family.

The excitement is building as our newest educators get ready to welcome students and become part of that family!
