Saliva Modification Study

The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee (FRC) is proud to announce a new submission to the Validation and Evaluation Repository. The Baton Raton Police Services Department Biological Processing Laboratory has submitted a saliva material modification study report using the Abacus Diagnostics SALIgAE® colormetric test. The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee (FRC) is proud to announce a new submission to the Validation and Evaluation Repository. As you may already know, the purpose of this FRC initiative is to create a central repository of forensic validations and evaluations. ASCLD hopes that this repository will foster information sharing and promote collaboration with the forensic science community. The Arizona Department of Public Safety has shared a validation summary for the work to determine if the Cadre TopMatch 3D virtual comparison microscope can be utilized to perform virtual comparisons of cartridge cases and demonstrate reliable results to determine a common source. “Assessing Sharpie® Markers as Vectors for Human DNA Contamination in Forensic Casework”

The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee (FRC) Collaboration Hub would like to announce a new submission for Researchers Seeking Practitioners. Duquesne University would like to call upon practitioners to collaborate on a research study. Researchers are seeking donated used laboratory Sharpie® markers to include in their evaluation. Please email [email protected] when markers have shipped and reimbursement for shipping costs may be available. Results from the markers will be anonymized in the research, but laboratory results can be provided upon request.
