Here’s how to prepare for your next checkpoint:

Be sober.
Have a valid driver’s license.
Make sure everyone is buckled.
No drugs.
No expired tags.
And if you’ve got warrants…go ahead and handle that.

Our most recent checkpoint resulted in 116 traffic and criminal charges.

We teamed up with North Carolina State Highway Patrol, High Point Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, Gibsonville Police Department, Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), UNCG Police, and North Carolina A&T State University Police.

As construction season ramps up, you’ll start seeing more cones, barrels, and crews working on our roads.

That’s your reminder to:
• Slow down
• Stay off your phone
• Give workers space
• Expect sudden stops and lane shifts

Those folks working in the road aren’t just “construction workers”… they’re parents, friends, neighbors, and members of our community.

A few extra seconds of patience can make the difference between a close call and someone getting home safely.

A great day 2 at the Annual Meeting in Minneapolis! 🚦

Today was packed with valuable information, fresh perspectives and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow highway safety professionals from across the country.

We're heading back to N.C. tomorrow with lots of great ideas & inspiration to bring our work to GHSP!

Our team is in Minneapolis this week for the. Governors Highway Safety Association Annual Meeting, joining highway safety professionals from across the country & bringing fresh ideas back to North Carolina.

On Sunday, we participated in the GHSA Business Meeting and heard from national leaders, including NHTSA Administrator Jonathan Morrison, on the latest priorities and challenges in highway safety.

We look forward to another exciting day of networking and learning!

The Booze It & Lose It campaign begins on Monday! We joined state and local leaders in Fayetteville today to kick off this year's Labor Day campaign and remind everyone to make a plan for a safe ride home.

Fayetteville Mayor Mayor Mitch Colvin, Fayetteville Police Department Chief Roberto E. Bryan, Jr., N.C. Rep. Mike Colvin for NC and GHSP Director Mark Ezzell helped spread the word about the importance of keeping impaired drivers off our roads this Labor Day.

Yesterday was one for the books! 🏁 We had a great event with Ross Chastain at Rush Hour Karting. Fans got the chance to meet Ross, grab some photos and autographs and then take the wheel for an unforgettable experience - racing head-to-head with Ross on the karting track.
