Our team is strong but small, and we need more help! Several of our dedicated members are out on medical leaves and this has left some big holes in our schedule. Many of our members are stepping up to try to cover the extra hours, but we desperately need more hands on deck. We are especially short-handed during daytime hours. We already get great support from Stellar and IMT, so now I put out A CALL TO OTHER LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS AND EMPLOYERS: Could you let one of your employees be called away for a couple hours during the workday? Your flexibility could ensure someone’s loved one gets emergency help when they need it most. We need more drivers just as much as we need more EMTs! No previous experience required! We pay for EMT class for those willing to get certified!

This week is meant to honor our men and women that respond to the calls for help everyday. And its a perfect opportunity for us to say Thank You to our surrounding services that have helped us in times of need.

Here's a look at where we are right now.

We are currently watching 3 areas of storms right now:

1. The storm currently in SW Iowa with both a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning on it. This is expected to progress east northeast through the next few hours.

2. The second area is the line trailing behind this initial push of storms, which is expected to eventually lift northeastward into southern Iowa. Both rounds of storms could produce damaging winds, hail and tornadoes all possible.

The looping image shows the potential progression of these storms now through 10 pm.

The black line indicates a rough estimate of where the storms will be at each time, while the purple indicates the probability for a severe report within those same areas.

As you can see, probabilities are quite high, especially with the second push of storms across northern Missouri into southern Iowa.

That said, keep in mind this is just a model and may not be perfectly representative.

Thursday's severe weather outlook has been extended further to the north. As a cold front approaches Thursday afternoon, thunderstorms are expected to develop and could pose a severe weather threat. Still more than a few days away, so we will keep watching it and go into greater details as we get closer to Thursday.
