To the people of our community,
I owe you honesty, and that’s what I’ll give you.
After completing the full process to be placed on the ballot, including petition submissions, multiple reviews, sworn oaths, notarization, and confirmation, I was later informed two weeks afterward that my application was rejected and would require starting the entire process over from the beginning.
While that was difficult news, here’s what matters most:
The work didn’t stop. The conversations didn’t stop. The community didn’t stop.
Over the past weeks, I’ve listened more than I’ve spoken.
I’ve seen more than I expected.
And I’ve learned enough to know that this may not be the right time, but it is absolutely the right calling.
Titles don’t create impact, people do.
For the next two years, my commitment is simple:
• Be present where we live
• Stay engaged in city conversations
• Support neighbors, families, and small efforts that create real change
• Build momentum the honest way, through trust, consistency, and action
What began as a campaign has become something bigger:
A community conversation that doesn’t end with an election date.
I’m grateful for every prayer, every conversation, and every ounce of support.
And I truly believe what started here has already reached the hearts and ears it was meant to reach, and it will continue to grow.
This isn’t a loss.
It’s a pause with purpose.
We’re still here.
We’re still engaged.
We’re Keep’n it H.O.T.
And we’re just getting started.
With respect and a humble thank you,
Sernerick J. Greer, LMT, MTI, CLC, RCEP
