The Admin Awards The Admin Awards® is the Administrative Profession’s Highest Honor. We are currently in nine markets across the U.S. Coming to a city near you.

Often referred to as the 'Academy Awards for Admins', the Admin Awards offers nine distinct award categories, including the program’s most prestigious award, The Colleen Barrett Award for Administrative Excellence which elevates the professional who embodies the “spirit” and proficiency of nationally renowned (former) secretary, Colleen Barrett, President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines. While the

program is a competition among Admins nominated by their superiors and coworkers, the Admin Awards is, at its core, a celebration where all who attend are treated to a special evening packed full of excellent food, significant prizes, entertainment and fun. including Dallas-Fort Worth Silicon Valley, Denver, San Francisco Bay Area, Houston, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and the Pacific Northwest which encompasses Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

This isn't the first time that a CEO has had to confirm for their Nominee(s) that they were indeed nominated for the Admin Awards and that the email they received was legit and not SPAM which is exactly what happened at Houston Sports Authority during the Final Four last year.

"It was a crazy time, during Final Four and I got an email that came through that said we had been nominated....and I said, that must be SPAM mail and I didn't pay attention to it. And then I just went about my business until my CEO Janis replied back and I thought THIS IS REAL - WE HAVE BEEN NOMINATED!"

That was Monica Hamilton's response when she received the notification that she and her team were nominated by Houston Sports Authority CEO Janis Burke for the Team Achiever Award at the Admin Awards in Houston last year. And it's not all that uncommon, to be honest.

Monica is an Executive Administrative Assistant at Houston Sports Authority and once she realized that the Admin Awards was indeed a real thing, she says "it was awesome to know that we had been recognized for [our work]."
