The Town of Gardnerville was honored to host Senator Catherine Cortez Masto for a tour on July 3rd. During her visit, she learned more about our community’s needs and explored opportunities for partnership with the federal government.

We’re grateful for her support in securing a $1.26 million Economic Development Initiative Grant for the reconstruction of Industrial Way, and for recommending an additional $1.1 million to improve Pep Circle, Service Drive, and Venture Drive.

Even though Gardnerville is a small town, we truly appreciate the Senator taking time out of a holiday weekend to meet with our representatives.

Starting on Monday, July 6th Qualconn Contractors will begin the reconstruction of Industrial Way. The work involves removing and replacing damaged concrete curbs and valley gutters as well as all the pavement within the limits of the roadway. The work is expected to take 45 working days with construction finishing the first week of September.

Some of the most intense work will take place over night to avoid disruption to the area. Over the next few weeks work will occur during the day. Access to businesses will be maintained however, there may be delays or modifications to business access.

This $1.34 million dollar project is possible due to a federal grant from Housing and Urban Development. The Nevada Congressional Delegation including Senator Cortez-Masto, Senator Rosen and Congressman Amodei were instrumental in providing $1.26 million towards the project.
