Tomorrow June 3, 2026 is FLOWER DAY!

Town staff will start hanging flower baskets from the street light poles on Main Street (US 395) at about 8:00 AM, after school drop-offs and most of the morning commute has ended. We'll be impeding traffic in the Northbound lane first and then south for about 3 hours. It's not much of a delay, but please be patient with us and your fellow drivers, or take an alternate route.

Work at the Gardnerville Station is complete! Thirteen years after the town purchased the Station for $1 the blight has been eliminated. So much work has been done; removal of leaking underground storage tanks and the contaminated soil, installation of a 13,000 cubic foot underground storm water detention basin, pumps to take storm water to the Martin Slough, NDOT reduced the curvature of the highway so the wheels of large trucks no longer track onto the sidewalk and connected the highway storm drain system to the tank, the building was rehabilitated into a public meeting space, electric car charging stations were installed to replicate the old gas pumps, and finally all the onsite paving and landscaping is done (a few minor punch list items remain).

It was a real lift with funding from the State of Nevada, Federal Government, Douglas County, and the Town of Gardnerville. Thank you for you patience as the town worked to make this gateway into Main Street beautiful.

Wednesday is the Farmers Market at Heritage Park, and we want you to know that it is moving to the North End of Heritage Park by the Pavilion and bathrooms. You'll be able to easily access vendors and parking from Gilman or High School.

We also as that you PLEASE AVOID Courthouse Alley between Gilman Ave and Eddy St (by the old jail) for a short time around 8 o'clock. Town staff will have the street closed to perform a sidewalk repair, and there's nowhere else for the truck to park while we wheelbarrow concrete to the repair site. Please be patient while we work to keep your park safe and presentable. THANKS!
