INFO ALERT FOR PROPERTY OWNERS ON PLEASANT POND AND
COBBOSSEECONTEE STREAM WITH DOCKS AND BOATS

Repairs to the New Mills Dam are scheduled for early October 2026. The repairs require a temporary water level reduction, beginning in September, of approximately 3 feet for 2 to 3 days. This is 1 foot below the normal winter drawdown level that usually commences each year in October; however, this year the drawdown will be completed one month earlier, by early October. During this drawdown, the Town of Litchfield will be rebuilding the two existing boat launches on Thorofare Road. The boat launches will be unavailable for approximately 1 week for hauling out or launching boats.

Upon completion of the dam repairs, the water level will be increased by 1 foot to winter pond level over the course of several days. This means that property owners may need to consider pulling their boats and docks earlier than usual. Specific dates will be announced as soon as the information is available on the Pleasant Pond-Cobbosseecontee Stream Lake Association (PPCSLA) website (https://ppcsla.org/new-mills-dam/), the PPCSLA Facebook group page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/773046116747679/), and on various community newsletters and bulletin boards.

Please check the PPCSLA website for updates https://ppcsla.org/new-mills-dam/.

Thank you for your attention to this matter,
New Mills Dam Committee
