What a fantastic day for the 2026 Augusta/Gardiner Rotary Golf Tournament.
We are so grateful for every team, every golfer, every sponsor and every volunteer. Without each of you, we could not continue this annual tournament that honors Rotarian Carl Hubbard, and raises money for both clubs. This is how we are able to give back locally in all the ways we do.
Thank you to Natanis for the use of your course and for accommodating us so graciously.
Thank you to Vicki and Tracie for all the hours of work leading up to today.
Thank you to everyone who took pictures today and we hope we did not miss anyone or any sponsor sign!

Our club is growing again! This week we inducted two new members into Rotary.

Our first new member is Mike Gross who is the West Gardiner Fire Chief. Along with Mike, is Janie Maddocks the owner of Lady J's in Hallowell who will be joining as a new Rotarian. Janie has spoken at our meetings a few times and also recently catered our Annual Meeting this year.

We are excited to have them join us and look forward to serving with them moving forward. We take pride in our club and we know that both Mike and Janie will add value to this club.

We also were able to witness deb Couture present Deb Kimball with the Paul Harris Fellow award for her service above self to this club and the community. Deb is always willing to step up and help, no matter the task. For years she shopped for the Tiger Food Pantry. She serves breakfast each week and delivers the leftover food to City Hall for staff to enjoy. She serves on the Board of Directors for Rotary. She participates in almost every event that Rotary is part of and can always be counted on to lend a hand. Debbie your club is proud of you and so grateful that you choose to be a member of this club.

The weather decided to make last week’s concert the last one for this summer!

Big thank you to all the Rotarians who pitched in this summer, be it buying the food or delivering it to the waterfront, or the variety of volunteers who worked each week!

But the biggest thank you goes to our very own Steven Marson! Steve allows us to use his trailer and all the equipment for the whole summer and without that, we couldn’t do what we do! Thank you Steve for your unwavering generosity to this club! We are so grateful for you!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a burger or dog this year! We appreciate you all so much and we hope to see you all next year!

This Week’s Guest Speaker was Bonnie Caspersen owner of The Cat’s Familiar in Gardiner Maine.

The Cat’s Familiar is a Cat Café who’s mission is to nourish our community, both physically and emotionally, with affordable home style take-out and gifts made by local artisans, in a creative cozy space where everyone can connect and spend time with cuddly, adoptable cats. To date they have had over 20 successful adoptions.

They are age friendly and welcome everyone to come in a spend time with the cats.

They also host a number of events such as Paint & Purr, Movies with Kitties, Bingo with cats and Yoga with cats. Check them out on Facebook at

We were also joined by this year's recipient of the Jim Murphy 2 Year educational gift, Lance Minoty. After receiving the gift, Lance wrote a very eloquent thank you letter, which touched all Rotarians deeply. What an incredible young man and it was nice for Jim to be able to meet him in person.

A thirsty thanks to Deirdre! She swung by an assortment of snacks, like these cold, sugar free Topo Chico‘s and protein bars! So thoughtful!
