It cost nothing to give acceptance and love 🌈

To be true to oneself, is something many take for granted every single day. Here we are, in 2022, still fighting for equality amongst all. There is so much in the month of June. We celebrate those of the LGBTQ+ community. We show them we care, we love, and most importantly… we see and hear them!

While so much progress has been made, the community still struggles with mental health and access to common resources. According to a recent surveys by the Trevor’s project, at least 45% of the youth community seriously considered su***de. That is a number that is way too high. We want to remind them that there is help out there. Remind them to look for sources of joy during hard times. No matter if that’s therapy, friends/family, music/art, meditation, + groups, etc! Just remember that you are not alone and that you were !

People from all walks of life have been hit with increased stressors from the ongoing pandemic; which has lead to a drastic increase mental health crises.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. With awareness comes growth, with growth comes change. With togetherness, we can be change we need to see.

We are here to remind you that YOU are not alone. There are resources, knowledge, and even love. Do not forget to check in on your loved ones, even when everything appears fine. Our mental health matters!

Today H.E.I.R.S. Would like to honor the great Amanda Gorman: a scholar, poet, and youngest in U.S. history to give a poem at the inaugural ceremony. She is a Los Angeles native who has been breaking boundaries from a young age. We are amazed and thankful for her amazing work and look forward to her future accomplishments!
