At A Night of Hope, we will be honoring Mark Lowry, the Director of our OC Food Bank, with the Lifetime Achievement Award
Mark started at CAP OC in 1986 as a Research Analyst. Within 18 months, he was assigned to be the interim Manager of the Food Bank. Some of his proudest accomplishments were launching our Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP also known as our Senior Food Box Program) in 1991, working to expand CSFP to other communities, and successfully meeting the goal of expanding CSFP into all 50 states by CSFP's 50th Anniversary in 2019. He is also proud to have played a role in our OC Food Bank's extraordinary response during the height of the pandemic.
When asked what keeps him at CAP OC over these years, he responded "The opportunity to do good work and impact people's lives in positive ways that I may never know. The opportunity to work daily with diverse partners including low-income consumers, volunteers, media, elected officials, colleagues, product and financial donors."
