Community Action Partnership of Orange County

Community Action Partnership of Orange County CAP OC changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, and improves Orange County communities! Thus, CAPOC was born.

It all started with an idea, that poverty in all its forms and manifestations is degrading to the individual and represents a clear threat to the continued health and prosperity of our nation. In 1965, community leaders came together to present their idea for providing local residents with the power and tools to grow economic opportunities and solve community problems. CAPOC was instrumental in introducing Orange County to community centers, youth and adult employment programs, food and nutritional programs, senior and disabled transportation, community improvement, utility assistance, weatherization, health services, day care programs, emergency housing, Farm 2 Kids, Farm 2 Families, Headstart, Neighborhood Youth Corps, and Community Mentor Partnership. Over the years, Community Action Partnership of Orange County's' mission has transformed millions of lives. When families work through our programs, they develop greater confidence and motivation to manage setbacks in their lives. At Community Action, the answer lies in empowering people to recognize and make use of their own unique strengths and resources in order to improve their lives.

Summer at CAP OC is about more than fun—it’s about friendship, connection, and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.

This year, youth from all three of our Family Resource Centers enjoyed a day of adventure at Knott’s Berry Farm! From chasing thrills to soaking up the summer sun, our youth had a “berry” good time and made lasting memories along the way.

As a new school year begins, we’re excited to welcome our youth back for another year of connection, growth, and opportunity.

September is , a time to recognize the incredible work of our OC Food Bank and the countless partners fighting hunger across Orange County.

It’s also an opportunity to look beyond food and consider the broader factors that shape health and stability. Access to nutritious food matters, but so does access to health care, diapers and other essential resources that help individuals and families thrive.

Throughout the month, we’ll spotlight how CAP OC and our partners are addressing immediate needs across Orange County. We’ll also kick off our annual Canstruction event at South Coast Plaza, bringing creativity and community together to raise awareness about hunger and inspire action.

Stay tuned!
