What we do in this lifetime echoes in eternity . . .

The Women of Purpose Fund has
been established by area women who
have graciously made donations to
build a permanently endowed fund of
nearly $57,000 to help support local
programs focused specifically on
women’s needs. Because of their
passion and vision to see other
women succeed in
our community, the
fund was able to
award two grants in
2010 within our
community for
programs to empower
women as

they enter the workforce
with the polish and professionalism
businesses are seeking. As we begin
our second year, the area of focus will
shift, but will still maintain the
purpose of this fund.

Congratulations to TFI Family Services on being the recipient of a Women of Purpose Pay-It-Forward mini grant! This grant was directed by Jan Cutter, who was drawn as the director at the recent Women of Purpose Founders Luncheon.

On Monday, inspiring women from across our community gathered to celebrate, encourage new memberships and grow their Women of Purpose Fund at the WKCF. Congratulations to Maxine Atkinson on being drawn as the Pay-It-Forward winner! As the winner, Maxine will direct a $100 mini-grant from the Women of Purpose fund to a non-profit of her choice.

During the last two weeks of school, the Women of Purpose awarded Pay-It-Forward grants to the Scott Community High School and Holcomb High School FFA classes. Cindy Messenger helped to present the awards to both classes as the director of the awards. Cindy was drawn as the lucky grant director at the Women of Purpose's Annual Award Luncheon back in April. She knew she wanted to support something ag related, and with granddaughters in both the FFA classes, it was an easy choice to support both programs. Congratulations to Holcomb HS FFA and Scott City FFA KS!

Thank you to everyone that joined us yesterday for the annual Women of Purpose Grant Award luncheon! We had such a wonderful time sharing a meal and conversation.

Congratulations to to the three Women of Purpose grant recipients for 2025 - Great Plains MakerSpace, Core Community Ulysses, and Grace Place Pregnancy Care Center. We would also like to thank Darla Daniels and Kathleen Whitley for their service on the Women of Purpose Executive Committee and extend a warm welcome to our new Executive Committee members Shonda Collins and Cindy Messenger. We are so looking forward to next year!

The Women of Purpose annual grant application is open! This year's grant award will be $5,000 for the recipient organization. Eligible organizations should be 501(c)3 nonprofits or a charitable equivalent, and programs should seek to address a cause or need affecting females of any/all ages. Apply today at wkcf.org/grants.

Congratulations to the Finney County Humane Society on being awarded a Pay-It-Forward grant through the Women of Purpose. At each Women of Purpose event, a drawing is held for the chance to direct a $100 mini-grant through the Women of Purpose fund. At the annual Award Luncheon in April, Sawyer Payne was the lucky name drawn and she elected to direct the mini-grant to the shelter.

The Women of Purpose are saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Sara F Robinson. Sara's smile was truly infectious. She was filled with joy and was always ready to spread that joy with her laughter and charisma. Sara was a long-standing member of the Women of Purpose, a Founding Woman of Vision, and a former member of the Executive Committee. Sara's joy, desire to see females succeed, and her presence at Women of Purpose functions will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie, Anna, Caroline, and the rest of their sweet family, as well as to all who knew this wonderful woman.
