Join us for our upcoming Chalk the Walk Contest as we celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United Stated! This patriotic-themed event is a fun and creative way for residents of the 19th Assembly District to showcase their pride and bring red, white, and blue spirit to our community.

Decorate your sidewalk or driveway with a festive, patriotic design, snap a pic and send it to [email protected]. The last day to submit your photo is Monday, July 6th.

We look forward to seeing your creativity shine as we celebrate this historic milestone together!

Every year I’m impressed by the creativity our fifth‑graders bring to my ‘There Ought to Be a Law’ contest. Congratulations to all 30 semi-finalists – and to Gabriella Rodia from Polk Street School on her winning proposal highlighting the importance of mental health days. Gabriella’s law would ensure employees are able to take mental health days for their own well‑being, not only when a doctor’s note or physical illness is involved.

This year we had 553 entries from nine participating schools. I want to thank all the students who took time to develop ideas aimed at helping others and improving our community.

The MTA’s annual budget is more than $21 billion. Public investment of that scale demands thorough, vigorous scrutiny.

My legislation (A.6088) would identify waste & inefficiencies in MTA operations while restoring accountability to the taxpayers.

Every Father’s Day, I think of my father who served as my inspiration to serve as an elected official. He was my first hero and shared lessons that have stuck with me for a lifetime.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, stepdads, grandfathers and father figures who support our communities!

For Long Island families, the cost of childcare is simply unaffordable – median costs equal $21,000/yr according to a 2024 NYS Office of Children and Family Services report.

New York: Second highest average annual price of childcare in the nation according to data from the federal Labor Department between 2018 – 2023.

For childcare providers, the high operational costs and overly cumbersome state regulatory environment are forcing many to leave the industry.

“It’s a business model that is fundamentally flawed,” said Linda Smith, executive director of The Child Care Trust, a national childcare policy organization supported by Child Care Aware. “In any business, when the cost or price of the product is more than what most of your customers can afford, you have a failing business model.”

A historic celebration in New York City today as the NBA Champion Knicks made their way down the Canyon of Heroes.

Congrats to Knicks fans on the well-deserved title, and a parade 53 years in the making.

Enjoyed my time talking with 4th graders at Notre Dame School this morning.

Topics included Flag Day, state government, how a bill becomes law, Teddy Roosevelt & favorite snacks.

Thank you, Mrs. Duchnowski, faculty & students for a great day!

In celebration of Flag Day, I presented four American flags, each flown over the New York State Capitol, to our local elementary schools

This is one of my favorite times of year--getting to talk with students about the meaning behind our flag and appreciate the values and ideals that unite us

When we introduced the Lights on With Energy Relief (LOWER) Plan, we did so in response to utility bills hikes and growing energy concerns.

Our strategy: keep more money in NYers’ pockets and ensure the state’s energy future with an all-of-the-above approach while protecting consumer choice.
