Last week, the Garden City Republican Committee hosted a well-attended evening of conversation and community engagement.

We were proud to welcome Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly and Jeanine Driscoll (Receiver of Taxes, Town of Hempstead), along with Councilman Muscarella, Legislator John Giuffre, and NY Senate Candidate Matt Capp, and many residents who are actively involved in the future of our village.

On St. Patrick’s Day, it’s especially fitting to recognize the strong sense of pride, tradition, and community that makes Garden City such a special place. ☘️

Detective Steven D. McDonald’s legacy will never be forgotten and he continues to inspire generations of New Yorkers. After being shot and paralyzed in the line of duty, Steven chose forgiveness and spent the rest of his life teaching compassion, courage, and humanity. The decision to rename the NYPD Police Academy in College Point, Queens, in Steven’s honor is deeply deserving and a powerful tribute to the values he lived by. His story, shared with new recruits, will continue to shape the next generation of officers.

Steven was a dear friend, and I was deeply impacted by his unwavering commitment to his faith and to helping others.
