This week's Crime Report:

6/23/26
• GCPD responded to four medical aided cases.
• GCPD responded to five auto accidents.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Brompton Rd. residence. GCFD located the source of carbon monoxide and ventilated the affected area.
• GCPD responded to a Pell Terrace residence for a larceny scam. The detective division found that a 71-year-old PA woman mailed $7,700 to the Pell Terrace residence. The name on the package was different from the resident’s name. The family had brought the package into the house before the would-be thief could grab it.
• GCPD responded to CVS for a suspicious person attempting to pay for a large amount of goods with a debit card that didn’t work. Investigation revealed no criminality/loss. Field interview completed; warrant check was negative.
• GCPD responded to Parking Field 7N. Investigation revealed an unknown vehicle had struck and damaged the passenger of a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The report was forwarded to the detective division.
• GCPD responded to 200 GC Plaza for a report of a person leaving messages claiming to be able to leak information regarding this law firm. The report was forwarded to the detective division.
• GCPD responded to a Jefferson St. residence for a well check. Investigation revealed the person in question had passed away in hospice care in Florida.
• GCPD responded to the GC Pool for a 2021 Ram 1500, which was parked and had damage to the front passenger side fender. Damage caused by unknown means.
• GCPD conducted a truck stop at the Stewart Manor RR. Seven commercial vehicles were inspected, of which three were placed out of service. Thirty-six tickets were issued.
• GCPD responded to the Residence Inn for a report of a suspicious male who refused ID and left the area.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to 821 Franklin Ave. for an alarm, which was determined to be a malfunction.

• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Clinton Rd. address for an automatic fire alarm that was triggered by an alarm malfunction.
• GDPD officers interviewed a resident of Whitehall Blvd. regarding jewelry that was discovered to be missing during a move from one house to a new residence. Detectives have been notified.
• GCPD officers responded to an erratic driver on Washington Ave. at Stewart Ave., reported to be a white van swerving in traffic. Upon arrival, the vehicle was no longer in the area.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to the Garden City Golf Club for an automatic fire alarm that was activated by steam in the shower.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Whitehall Blvd. residence for an automatic fire alarm that was activated by a homeowner replacing a smoke detector.
• GDPD and GCFD responded to a 7th St. residence for an automatic fire alarm that was activated by a burnt English muffin in the microwave.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Brixton Rd. residence for an automatic fire alarm that was activated by an alarm malfunction.
• GCPD officers responded to a golf course on Stewart Ave. for a report of youths swimming and fishing in a pond; upon arrival, the youths were no longer at the scene.
• GCPD officers responded to four aided cases.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Kilburn Rd. residence for a report of the odor of gas in the house. It was determined that the stove was left on, and the location was declared safe for occupancy.

• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Whitehall Blvd. residence for a CO alarm. GCFD cleared the scene and declared the location safe for occupancy.
• GCPD responded to a Tremont St. residence for a report of a suspicious vehicle, described as a white Tesla with a NY plate in the area. Upon arrival, the listed vehicle was not at the scene. Detectives have been notified.
• GCPD officers responded to a Raymond Ct. residence for the report of a possible lost dog. Before police arrival, the dog was located in the rear of 555 Stewart Ave.
• GCPD officers responded to Clinton Rd. and St. James Street South for the report of a disabled vehicle. The operator of the vehicle had their own assistance responding, and the vehicle was removed via tow.
• GCPD officers responded to Hilton Ave. and 6th St. for a welfare check of a person possibly sleeping on a bench. The individual involved sat on the bench after a walk and did not require medical attention or police assistance.
• GCPD officers responded to Old Country Rd. and Spruce St. for the report of a disabled vehicle. The vehicle had run out of gas, and the operator had contacted AAA, which responded to refuel it.
• GCPD officers responded to a Colvin Dr. residence for a report of a person possibly attempting to remove recyclables from the curb. Officers canvassed the area with negative results; no violations were observed.
• GCPD officers responded to a Roxbury Rd. residence for the report of four males soliciting window cleaning services. The reporting person declined service and advised that the males left on foot in an unknown direction. The area was canvassed with negative results.
• GCPD officers responded to a Stewart Ave. residence for the report of an unknown male sleeping in the backyard. The unknown male had left the location at the homeowner's request before police arrival. Detectives investigating.
• GCPD responded to two medical aided cases.

6/20/26
• GCPD officers responded to a Franklin Ave. restaurant for a report of a possible fight between two groups. Upon arrival, one group remained; medical assistance was rendered to one person, and no further police action was requested.
• GCPD officers responded to 2nd St. at Franklin Ave. for a report of a suspicious male who tried to open the passenger door of a vehicle that was stopped at a red light. Upon arrival, the male was no longer at the scene. Detectives were notified.
• GCPD officers responded to Clinton Rd. and St James St. So for a report of a traffic signal out. Upon arrival, it was determined that there was a power outage in the area. PSEG was notified, and the outage was corrected.
• GCPD officers responded to a report of a tree limb down at the GCRR by the LIRR walkway, rear of the Garden City Library. Tree limb removed by GC Recreation without incident.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a fire call for a report of an unknown odor at a Meadow St. residence, which was determined to be from recent landscape fertilizer.
• GCPD officers responded to Cherry Valley Ave. and 6th St. for the report of a disabled vehicle in the roadway. Vehicle was removed from the roadway via tow without incident.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to Adelphi University for an automatic fire alarm, deemed to have been set in error.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Hampton Rd. residence for an automatic fire alarm, which was deemed to have been a malfunction.
• GCPD officers responded to a Kingsbury Rd. residence to assist an elderly female. Assistance was rendered without incident or injury.
• GCPD officers responded to a Tremont St. residence for a report of two youths who rang the doorbell of the residence and then ran away. The area was canvassed with negative results.
• GCPD officers responded to a Nassau Blvd. residence for the report of loud music. The parties involved were warned of the Village code regarding noise, and all was quiet upon departure.
• GCPD responded to two auto accidents.
• GCPD responded to one medical aided case.

6/19/26
• GCPD officers responded to a 7th St. residence to assist an elderly male. Assistance was rendered without incident, and no injuries were reported.
• GCPD officers responded to a Pell Terrace residence for a report of a male walking up to the front door of the house, possibly video recording. Detectives were notified.
• GCPD officers responded to Garfield St. for a report of landscapers using gas-powered leaf blowers. Upon arrival, no violations were observed in the area.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a 7th St. business for an automatic fire alarm, which was triggered by burnt food.
• GCPD officers responded to a Tremont St. residence for a report of the larceny of a potted plant. Detectives are investigating.
• GCPD officers interviewed a Magnolia Ave. resident who reports an identity theft involving a stolen/altered check that had been mailed, resulting in a financial loss of approximately $700.
• GCPD officers were assigned to the Big Pineapple Circus Summer Promenade Festival on 7th Street. Event completed without incident.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to a Kildare Rd. residence for an unknown odor in the house, deemed to be the result of a BBQ from a nearby residence.
• A Pomeranian dog was brought to GCPD HQ that was found running loose at Clinton Rd. and Poplar St. The dog was transported to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter without incident.
• GCPD responded to five auto accidents.
• GCPD responded to two medical aided cases.

6/18/26
• GCPD officers responded to the vicinity of a New Hyde Park Rd. residence for a report of a male pacing on the roadway. Upon arrival, the person stated that he was confused and requested to be taken to the hospital.
• GCPD officers responded to a Hawthorne Rd. residence for a report of a suspicious auto described as a silver van operated by a white male who was attempting to speak to a 12-year-old male who was walking. The area was canvassed for the described van with negative results, and a canvass was conducted for any video surveillance with negative results. Detectives notified.
• GCPD officers responded to 1st St. for a report of landscapers using gas leaf blowers and working before 8 am on a weekday. Officers canvassed the area for violations with negative results.
• As a result of high winds, a power outage occurred between Stewart Ave. and Merillon Ave. from Rockaway Ave. to Meadbrook Rd. GCPD officers responded to several reports of traffic lights being out and assisted where necessary. Additionally, GCPD officers responded to seven reports of tree limbs, and GC Parks and Recreation were notified and removed all reported tree limbs from the roadway.
• GCPD responded to seven medical aided cases.

6/17/26
• GCPD responded to five medical aided cases.
• GCPD responded to four traffic accidents.
• GCPD responded to 1300 Franklin Ave .for a report of a larceny of $85 of Modelo beer. Report taken and forwarded to the detective division.
• GCPD and GCFD responded to 200 Garden City Plaza for an alarm. The alarm was apparently triggered by burnt hair.

• GCPD responded to Magnolia Ave. for a suspicious male in a hoodie circling cars on his bike. Person GOA.
• A Hamilton Pl. resident reports an unknown person, in Los Angeles, used her ATM card to access $6,000. Detectives investigating.
• GCPD responded to Sackville Rd. for an Identity Theft. An unknown person made charges to her Amazon account. Detectives investigating.
• A Pennsylvania resident reports an Identity Theft. Detectives investigating.
• GCPD responded to six auto accidents.
• GCPD responded to five aided calls.
