Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park

Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park Providing environmental education and opportunities for outdoor recreation while supporting conservation of ecological systems and natural settings.

Partnering with the landowners; Town of Wilton, NYSDEC, Saratoga County, and The Nature Conservancy. A Preserve for Nature, A Park for People

With over twenty-five miles of hiking trails that are available from dawn to dusk and year-round educational and recreation programs, the Preserve & Park is a local gem. Whether you are a nature lover, outdoors enthusiast, or lifelong learner, the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park is a place to enjoy and a cause worthy of your support. Serving the community as a non-profit organization since 1996, we do not own any of 2,400 acres that are known as the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park. For more than two decades we have worked in partnership with the landowners; the Town of Wilton, Saratoga County, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and The Nature Conservancy, to conserve ecological systems and natural settings while providing opportunities for environmental education and outdoor recreation. Located in Saratoga County, New York, the Preserve & Park is part of the geologically significant Saratoga Sandplains. This area of ancient sand dunes, small but important wetlands and diverse ecological communities is home to the federally endangered Karner blue butterfly. This one-inch blue beauty is the catalyst behind the effort to conserve this increasingly rare landscape. While working to ensure a future for the Karner blue butterfly and other imperiled species, the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park invites people of all ages to enjoy the protected lands, appreciate the area’s beauty, and value nature’s importance. Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park's mission is to conserve ecological systems and natural settings while providing opportunities for environmental education and outdoor recreation. We do this in partnership with the landowners, the Town of Wilton, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Saratoga County, and The Nature Conservancy.
