🎙️ NEW EPISODE ALERT! 🎙️

Episode 5 of The Empowerment Exchange Podcast is now available!

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, RCCGC CEO Cecily Henderson joins Community Outreach Specialists Jessie Rhoads and Lindsay Durant for an important discussion about the connection between trauma, mental health, and interpersonal violence.

This episode explores the emotional impact of trauma, the warning signs that someone may be struggling, and the lessons we can learn from the story of Gabby Petito—a story that sparked a national conversation about abuse, coercive control, and the importance of recognizing emotional distress.

One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation:

"Instead of asking, 'What's wrong with you?' ask, 'What happened to you?'"

Education matters. Awareness matters. Compassion matters.

🎧 Listen to Episode 5 today and join us in building a more informed and supportive community.

If you or someone you know needs help, the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County is here 24/7.

💙 Denim Day | Stand With Survivors 💙

Today, we wear denim with purpose.

Denim Day began as a response to a harmful court ruling that blamed a survivor for the assault based on what she was wearing. In protest, people around the world wear jeans to stand against victim-blaming and support survivors of sexual violence.

At the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County, we believe:
✨ What someone wears is NEVER consent
✨ Survivors deserve to be heard, believed, and supported
✨ Prevention starts with education and awareness

👖 Wear your denim today and join us in sending a powerful message—
No more excuses. No more victim blaming.

💜 If you or someone you know needs support, our services are 100% free and confidential.
