Weโ€™re proud to introduce our newest future patrol deputies of the Galveston County Sheriffโ€™s Office as they begin our in-house Patrol Academy. Five of these recruits were sponsored through our agencyโ€™s sponsorship program, and all have demonstrated the dedication, hard work, and commitment that brought them to this moment. We are excited to watch them grow into their new roles within our agency.

This group highlights our commitment not only to recruiting the very best but also to growing our own from within the Galveston County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Among these recruits are employees who began their careers serving our agency in a variety of different roles, including Administrative Assistant, Nuisance Abatement, and Corrections. On June 8, 2026, ๐—Ÿ๐˜†๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—™๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€, ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿต and ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ ๐—š๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€, ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿญ, both of Hitchcock, Texas, arrived at the ๐—š๐˜‚๐—น๐—ณ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—”๐˜‚๐˜๐—ผ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ธ ๐—™๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ to obtain a 68-A vehicle inspection for a bonded title.
During the inspection, a task force investigator discovered both individuals to be in possession of multiple crack co***ne pipes and approximately ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿต.๐Ÿฑ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ.

The Galveston County District Attorneyโ€™s Office accepted charges of ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฎ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ (Penalty Group 1, 4gโ€“200g), a second-degree felony. Both individuals were transported to the ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐˜† ๐—๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—น, where bonds were set at $75,000 each.

While the Task Force is always available to assist the public, we recommend ensuring youโ€™re not in possession of illegal narcotics before voluntarily visiting a law enforcement facility.

The task force conducts criminal investigations, crime prevention initiatives, and provides analytical support to law enforcement agencies throughout the region.

The coordinated enforcement action was conducted to disrupt and dismantle a long-standing illegal gambling enterprise operating within the ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‹๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ช๐ฎ๐ž and surrounding areas.

These locations included a residence associated with the owner and operator of the Gold Chest game room and a warehouse believed to be utilized for the storage and distribution of illegal gambling machines:

Detectives also executed ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐ญ ๐ฏ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ as part of the ongoing financial component of the investigation.

On May 20, 2026, the ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐˜† ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ณโ€™๐˜€ ๐—ข๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ attended the ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—–๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฏ ๐—”๐—ป๐—ป๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ผโ€™๐˜€ ๐—”๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜ in Houston, where ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—”. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† and ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐— . ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป were honored as ๐—ข๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฌ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ for their valor and professionalism during a critical incident on July 16, 2025.

The incident began when Harris County deputies attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on Interstate 45. The suspect fired at law enforcement, leading to a pursuit into Galveston County.

At the time of the incident, ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† and ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป were riding together and responded to the area of 5900 block of Broadway in Galveston. ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† positioned his police vehicle ahead of the suspect who was still actively evading law enforcement at a high-rate speed. ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† and ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป collectively made the selfless decision to ๐™จ๐™–๐™˜๐™ง๐™ž๐™›๐™ž๐™˜๐™š ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ž๐™ง ๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™ฃ ๐™จ๐™–๐™›๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ฎ and attempt to immobilize the suspectโ€™s vehicle by utilizing the passenger side of the police vehicle in which ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป was seated.

As the suspect approached, ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† struck the driver side of the suspectโ€™s vehicle ultimately crashing the vehicle in the 5400 block of Broadway in Galveston. Upon exiting the vehicle armed with a firearm, the suspect engaged with law enforcement. ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜† and ๐—Ÿ๐˜. ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป and other law enforcement exchanged gunfire with the suspect. The suspect ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ and ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ with officers before being pronounced ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ at the scene.

Both lieutenants demonstrated ๐—ฒ๐˜…๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† and ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ. No officers or civilians were injured during the incident.
