Court of Criminal Appeals Place 2: Chris Oldner – An experienced judge and former prosecutor, Chris Oldner has shown the legal acumen and integrity that a judge on the state’s highest criminal court needs. This has been displayed of late in the case he has overseen regarding Attorney General Ken Paxton, where he has made rulings that were not politically popular but were legally correct.

Great news!! just got the endorsement of the Longview News Journal Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016

We endorse: Our picks for Texas Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals
Texas Court of Criminal Appeals
Place 2: Chris Oldner. Oldner is one of three Republicans seeking their party's nomination for this seat, which is held by a Democrat. A Collin County District Judge, Oldner was a felony prosecutor until being elected as a county court-at-law judge in 2000. In 2003, Gov. Rick Perry appointed him to serve on the 416th District Court bench. He faces Harris County District Judge Mary Lou Keel and Collin County District Judge Ray Wheless. Keel is less experienced than Oldner, and Wheless has a background mainly in civil law, not criminal. In November's general election, Oldner would face incumbent Justice Larry Myers, who switched parties two years ago.

Dunning and Kruger attributed this bias to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their own ineptitude and evaluate their own ability accurately.
