Galveston Island Meals on Wheels, Inc. All meals are delivered by our dedicated team of volunteers. Galveston Island Meals on Wheels, Inc. Today, GIMOW delivers 200 meals daily.

Galveston Island Meals on Wheels delivers lunchtime meals to homebound Island residents who cannot prepare meals due to illness, disability, or age - regardless of their ability to pay. (GIMOW) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to delivering hot, nutritious meals each weekday to qualifying homebound and elderly citizens of the City of Galveston. Each meal is delivered by community volunteers with kind words and a smile. At the time it began operations in 1974, the program delivered just 10 meals per week. Since its inception, more than 500,000 meals have been delivered to the elderly and homebound citizens of Galveston. Nearly 50,000 meals will be delivered this year alone.

Last Thursday, GIMOW had the privilege of attending the United Way of Galveston’s 101st Workplace Giving Campaign Kickoff Luncheon, honoring Betty Massey.

It was a wonderful celebration of the people and organizations that make our community stronger—nonprofits, businesses, clubs, and individuals coming together to make a difference.

We are grateful for the continued support of United Way of Galveston and all they do for our community! ❤️

A BIG thank you to the Ball High Tors Baseball team for volunteering their time with us this evening! This great group of students stuffed 500 envelopes to help us prepare for an upcoming mailout in support of the 32nd Annual Rev. Ray Pinard Golf Tournament.
