On Wednesday January 15th, The Galt Police Department, Tonn family and community gathered for the 13th annual memorial honoring Officer Kevin Tonn. The memorial began this morning with the dedication of Officer Tonn Parkway, a moment of silence, and followed by a wreath-laying ceremony to honor his service and sacrifice.

We are honored to carry forward Officer Tonn’s legacy, which continues to live on in the community he so proudly served.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the Galt Police Department will honor Officer Kevin Tonn during a memorial ceremony at 12:00 PM.
Officer Kevin Tonn was fatally wounded in the line of duty on January 15, 2013.

This 13-year memorial ceremony will take place at the Officer Kevin Tonn Memorial located in front of Galt City Hall, 380 Civic Drive.
The ceremony will include the placement of a wreath by the Galt Police Department, followed by a moment of silence.

Members of the community and those that knew Kevin are invited to attend and pay tribute to Officer Tonn as we remember his service, honor his sacrifice, and reflect on the lasting impact he made on our community.

On August 26, we will come together once again to honor Officer Harminder S. Grewal.

The 4th annual wreath laying will be held at 12 pm in front of the Galt Police Department, 455 Industrial Dr. This ceremony is not only a reminder of Harminder’s sacrifice, but also of the joy, dedication, and kindness he brought to our department and our city.

At 1 pm, we will gather at the Liberty Ranch housing development just east of Marengo Rd for the Officer Grewal Parkway street dedication.

We invite our community to stand with us as we remember him. Your presence means more than words can ever say.

The public is invited to a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Officer Harminder Grewal on Monday, August 26, 2024, the three-year anniversary of his passing.

The Galt Police Department will conduct the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. at the corner of Civic Drive and C Street.

Officer Grewal took pride in serving his community, and his work ethic was contagious to all who worked with him. His service to our community will never be forgotten.
