McKinley County Fire and EMS

McKinley County Fire and EMS serves the citizens of McKinley County New Mexico and the City of Gallup.

We are primarily volunteers serving in 21 districts, one substation and one full time Fire Based Ambulance Service I have put this back up to try to inform those who use face book of training and other issues that concern McKinley County Fire and EMS and partnered entities that we are partnered with. I have found that people only check the web page once in awhile however check thier Facebook every

day. Inappropriate Posts will be deleted however I desire that Fire and EMS personnel in McKinley County and throughtout the State provide information on training and events.

Procratinators Last Chance is happening Dec 8th and 9th 2018 at GFD Station 2 Starting at 9am till we are done each day.

It was a great honor and privilege to have this 9/11 Remembrance flag presented to McKinley County Fire & EMS by Woodmen Life at the District Chiefs meeting last night. Thank you to ALL personnel for giving your best each and every day.

McKinley County Fire & EMS responded to a 2 acre fire near Wheatfield lake yesterday evening. Crews on IA constructed handline around fire and 5 of us remained overnight to monitor fire activity until BIA crews took over the fire this am. Thank you to all who responded. You did a great job!!!!!!

Been an amazing deployment working with all these guys. I would go to battle with this group any time!!! Thank you crew for giving your all and having each other’s back. Proud to be the engine boss of such a great team!!!

Good morning friends and family. We are currently enroute back to Gallup after being on the Mendocino Complex Fire in California. It was a great assignment. We went as a New Mexico Task Force that consisted of AFD, Corrales, Angel Fire, Los Alamos, and McKinley County Fire. It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside this crew and represent McKinley County as a whole. I’d like to thank everyone back home for the support and thoughts and prayers.

Had an amazing time and was honored to be a part of the Freedom Ride 2018. Started at the Texas/New Mexico border and finished in downtown Gallup, where we were met by an amazing crowd!!! Thank you Gallup for all your support!!!

McKinley County Fire responded to the San Antonio Fire in the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Pics of our morning briefing, the team of engines assigned to our strike force, and the beautiful 1.5 hour drive to get up to the fire every day. Been great working with Nalton again as well as seeing old friends AND making new ones.

McKinley County Fire was deployed to the San Antonio Fire yesterday afternoon. We are currently assigned to a strike team on Division Whiskey. Getting some rain since 0100 this am so operations are slow this am, but is a good thing for keeping fire behavior down.

McKinley County Fire & EMS was invited to be a part of the Health Fair at Mariano Lake Community School. Had a great time talking about fire safety and getting to know the community members as well.
Was such an honor when Marlena and the community presented us with this amazing hand painted plate.
It is an honor and privilege to be able to help serve our great communities.
