Domestic violence affects entire families.

Children living in abusive environments may experience emotional, behavioral and developmental effects even when they are not the direct target of the abuse.
Understanding these connections is critical to supporting survivor safety and family well-being.

Every statistic represents a person, a family, a child, or a community whose life has been impacted by domestic violence.

Nearly 20 people every minute experience physical abuse by an intimate partner. One in four women and one in nine men will experience severe intimate partner violence in their lifetime. Yet only a fraction of those injured receive medical care, and thousands of calls for help are made every day across the country.

These numbers are more than data pointsβ€”they are a reminder that domestic violence is a widespread public health and community issue that demands our attention, compassion, and action.

By supporting survivors, strengthening services, investing in prevention, and speaking out against abuse, we can help create safer communities where everyone has the opportunity to live free from violence.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. You are not alone. We are here for you.
