Fill your bag with shelf staple food items and place it by your mailbox. Your postal carrier will pick it up for you and it will all benefit The Community Pantry.

The items needed are mandatory to continue the approval of the USDA and for our community members who use the commercial kitchen. Today, I and two of my Board Members, Cindi Clifford and Veronica Ortiz Williams, had the opportunity to meet with Representative Theresa Fernandez Ledger to discuss the impacts of today's world on our local food bank, The Community Pantry. We toured the facility and explored various solutions to address food insecurity. Thank you, Representative Theresa Fernandez Ledger, for your time with us.

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out last night to help rescue produce from a wrecked trailer here in McKinley County.

What started as a phone call quickly turned into an incredible team effort. Within a short time, trucks were on the road and people were out there in the dark loading fruit and working together to save as much as possible.

No one hesitated. People simply showed up and helped wherever they were needed.

Because of that effort, 9,153 pounds of oranges and lemons were saved and will now go to families in our community.

We’re grateful for the teamwork, the willingness to step in, and the reminder of what community looks like when people come together to help one another.

Yesterday was a difficult day in our community, with two serious accidents occurring within about 10 miles of each other. Sadly, one life was lost, and our thoughts are with the family, and everyone affected.

Thank you to everyone who made it happen.

The Community Pantry in Gallup is currently hiring for a Warehouse Manager. Full-time position. This position oversees and administers the daily operations of the warehouse, including working with employees, volunteers and clients of the food bank. Must have clean driving record.
