* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Central McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 444 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding.
Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Wingate and McGaffey.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Northwestern McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* Until 545 PM MDT.

* At 247 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.25 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Nakaibito and Tohatchi.

thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding.

heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.25 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
West Central McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* Until 230 PM MDT.

* At 157 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Gallup,
moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Gallup, Church Rock, Yah-Ta-Hey, Fort Wingate, Rock Springs, Red
Rock, Gamerco, Allison, Red Rock State Park and Mentmore.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 15 and 38.

UNTIL 230 PM MDT...

At 154 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Gallup, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Gallup, Church Rock, Yah-Ta-Hey, Fort Wingate, Rock Springs, Red
Rock, Gamerco, Allison, Red Rock State Park and Mentmore.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 15 and 38.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
