Gallia County Engineer, Brett A. Boothe, announces that Bladen Road will be closed between Davis and Hamilton Road (The Call Road End) , beginning Monday, June 8th, 2026 at 7:00am for bridge replacement. The road will be closed until further notice. Local traffic will need to use other county roads as a detour.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals for the slip repair using a driven H pile system, will be received by the Gallia County Engineer at the office of the Gallia County Commissioners, 18 Locust Street, Room 1292, Gallipolis, Ohio, until 10:30 AM Thursday, June 4th, 2026, and then at 10:30 AM at said office opened and read aloud.
Plans, Specifications, and Bid/Contract Forms may be secured at the office of the Gallia County Engineer, 1167 State Route 160 Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 during regular business hours (6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday). A non-refundable fee of $10.00 will be charged for copies mailed or picked up by prospective bidders. All bidders must furnish, as a part of their bid, all materials, tools, labor, and equipment.
Only ODOT prequalified contractors will be eligible to submit bids. Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 100% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Gallia County or by certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in an amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the aforesaid Gallia County. Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond.
Completion Date: 11-30-2026

Bids shall be sealed and marked as "BID FOR CLAY CHAPEL ROAD SLIP REPAIR" and mailed or delivered to: Gallia County Commissioners Office, 18 Locust Street, Room 1292 Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in the bid packet, various insurance requirements, federal prevailing wage requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond of 100% of the contract price.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Gallia County reserves the right to waive any informalities or reject any or all bids.

Gallia County Engineer, Brett A. Boothe, announces that Kerr Road will be closed between Ambleside road and Pine Hill Road, beginning Monday, April 20th, 2026 at 7:00am for bridge repair. The repairs are expected to continue through 3:30pm April 23rd, weather permitting. Local traffic will need to use other county roads as a detour.

We are now accepting Dust Patch Applications for primary residency until May 1st!

The Gallia County Engineer's Office is currently taking applications for dust control on county roads. Applications will only be accepted for places of a primary residence. The last day to turn one in will be May 1st, so get them in before its too late!

Gallia County Engineer, Brett A. Boothe, announces that Swan Creek Road will be closed between Peters Branch and Hannan Trace Road, beginning Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at 7:00am for slip repair. The closure will be for 60 days, weather permitting. Local traffic will need to use other county roads as a detour. Thank you for your understanding.

Gallia County Engineer, Brett A. Boothe, would like to announce that currently the phone lines are down due to construction, at both the Engineers Office and the Highway Department. Efforts are being made to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible. The office is currently open Monday- Thursday 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, where we would be more than happy to help you out.
