We're breaking ground on The Hudson. 🌱

On Tuesday, June 30 at 9:00 AM, we'll turn the first shovels of dirt on our first pocket community, six homes gathered around a shared green space at 327 Sumner Hall Dr. in Gallatin. It's the start of something we've been working toward for years, and we want our community there to mark the moment with us.

Their support helps us continue creating moments of joy, creativity, and imagination through our Playhouse Project, where kids are reminded that they are seen, valued, and worthy of spaces made just for them.

Some things are worth showing up for year after year after year.

The Playhouse Project isn't just about building four walls and a roof. It's about a community deciding that every child deserves a place to call their own, and then actually doing something about it.

This year, Gallatin Construction CTE class didn't just cut every single piece of material; they showed up on build day and built alongside us. The next generation of tradespeople, investing in the next generation of dreamers.

Dutch Bros Coffee showed up for year 4, because great work starts with great people (and great coffee ). Bruster's Real Ice Cream closed out year 4 with the sweetest tradition we hope never ends. Kid City Smiles added flower boxes and mailboxes because a home deserves those finishing touches that make it feel real. And Pella Windows and Doors of Nashville made sure every single one of these houses made it home to the kids waiting for them.

But the moment that makes all of it worth it?
Watching a child's face when they see their version of home for the first time. 🥹🏡
That's why we build. That's why this community keeps showing up.

Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who show up every day with strength, sacrifice, and love that holds families together even in the hardest seasons.

At Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County, we see firsthand how safe, stable housing changes generations. We also see the determination of mothers working tirelessly to build brighter futures for their children.
