COUNCIL OPENIING - 4th WARD

The City Council of Galion is accepting resumes for filling the vacant 4th Ward Council position. The 4th Ward is the area south of Harding Way West and west of South Market Street to the city limits on the south side of Bucyrus Road. Interested parties should submit their resume to the Clerk of Council, 301 Harding Way East, Galion, Ohio 44833 or by email to [email protected] by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024. Qualifying candidates will be interviewed during an August 8, 2024 special council meeting at 7:00 p.m. Any questions should be directed to 419-468-9557.

The City Council of Galion is accepting resumes for the vacant 2nd Ward Council position. There were no valid petitions submitted for the November 7, 2023 election. The write in deadline for this election is August 28, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.

The 2nd Ward is the area North of Harding Way East and east of North Market Street.

Interested parties that live in the 2nd Ward should submit their resume to the Clerk of Council, in person at 301 Harding Way East, Galion, Ohio 44833 or by email to [email protected] by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Qualifying candidates will be interviewed at a date and time to be determined in the period of September 5-7, 2023. Special consideration will be given to candidates that file a valid write-in form with the Crawford County Board of Elections by the August 28, 2023, 4:00 p.m. deadline.

1-888-OHIOCOMP is donating 100 turkeys to the City of Galion. We want the turkeys to go to Galion homes that could use help with their Thanksgiving meals.

If you would like a turkey, come to the main floor of the City Building, 301 Harding Way East, to pick up a ticket. We are open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Please get your ticket by the close of business on Thursday.

Only one ticket per household. Please bring a photo ID or a copy of your Galion utility bill to verify you are a Galion resident. Tickets MAY NOT be reserved.

On Friday, Nov. 16, beginning at 10:30 a.m., bring your ticket to the Fire Department to pick up your turkey.

They will be delivered frozen. Pickups for other households WILL NOT be allowed.

Any leftover turkeys will be donated to local churches to be used for community meals.
