Galion Public Library

Galion Public Library Enriching the lives of the citizens of the Galion area with a wide variety of materials and services. Galion Public Library was founded in 1901.

Since that time our collection has grown to around 100,000 items. Initially the library was housed in a small log cabin, which is now located in Heise Park. The current library building (pictured at left) was built in 1904, partly with Carnegie funds, and later expanded in 1991 to create room for an ever-growing collection of materials and services. Besides a dedicated professional staff, the Gali

on Public Library is also blessed with an active Friends of the Library group. The friends hold seasonal bake sales and bazaars, as well as managing the library's running book sale. The funds raised by the Friends are used to better the services provided by the library. The library is governed by an independent board.

August's Coffee & Coloring is NEXT WEEK!!! We'll see you at Three Bean Coffee House on Wednesday, September 9th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM!

This is ALSO a reminder post that our October Coffee & Coloring meet-up is exactly one month away! YAY!!! We're hard at work collecting some extra spooky and totally cute coloring sheets for you.

Join us for a morning coloring session over a(n optional!) yummy drink and/or treat! We’ll provide all of the coloring supplies! Some of our coloring pages even get rotated seasonally. Feel free to bring your own supplies and project to work on if you prefer!

Nico’s recommendation for this month is: TBD! We'll keep you posted once fall creeps a little bit closer. 😉

Remember that our programs are always free to attend! All ages are welcome to join us for this cozy coloring session.

Yes! Story time starts today! We are asking that strollers be parked down the hall across from the children's room, so that the children have more room to enjoy storytime.

If you need me, I'll be at the Y.L.T.C. 👋😋

Monthly, the Y.L.T.C. meets to eat something new that tantalizes the tastebuds. At our first meeting, we tried a dozen different chocolates with flavors ranging from Southern Thai Tea to Camel Milk, with the best bite for most being a Norwegian Brown Cheese milk chocolate bar made with goat milk. YUM.

In September, we’ll be having a Noodle Bar! Start with picking your noodles and making your soup base, then pick your toppings! From fresh or pickled veggies to “drunken eggs”, ham, chicken, or even SPAM, the flavor path you choose is up to you. We’ll also give you a crash course on how to properly hold and use chopsticks to enjoy your meal, and of course, we’ll also have forks and spoons to opt for instead.

Sign-up is required for this program! We have a maximum capacity of 25 slots due to the nature of this program. We will also be limiting this event to adults ages 18+ only. Call the Galion Library at 419-468-3203, email Nico at [email protected], or send us a message right here on Facebook to be added to the Y.L.T.C. list! We'll request a name, phone number, and a call or text preference for a reminder the day before.
