What an incredible way to wrap up another amazing school year at Galeton Elementary! We’ve had so many fun celebrations and special events lately, and we’re excited to share a few highlights with our community:

🎤 Galeton’s Got Talent Spring Concert was another huge success! Thank you to Mr. B for putting together such a fantastic show and giving our students the opportunity to shine on stage. We were all blown away by an original song by some of our students to honor our beloved Mrs. Betsworth. And a special thank you to Cole R. for once again capturing these special moments for our school families and community. Our kids are so talented!

⭐ Our “Elite 80” students celebrated all their hard work and dedication to their iReady lessons with a fun-filled field trip! Students enjoyed swimming at the Eaton Rec Center, Happy Meals from McDonald’s, and a movie day watching Hopper at the Kress Cinema. Way to go, kids! We are also so thankful for our community partners who help support opportunities like these for our students.

🎓 Our Kindergarten students celebrated their very first year of school “in the books,” while our 5th graders celebrated being officially DONE with elementary school! Woohoo! We are so proud of all they’ve accomplished and wish them the very best as they begin their middle school journey.

🌭 On the final day of school, we packed in even more fun with our Trimester 3 Awards Assembly, Field Day, and end-of-year BBQ! A huge thank you goes out to our incredible kitchen staff for all the hard work they put into helping make this celebration special for everyone. We had an absolute blast, and we were especially grateful the weather cooperated.

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for another wonderful year at Galeton. We are already looking forward to next year!

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, GALETON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! 🎉 Galeton was recently awarded a 2025 John Irwin Award! Mrs. Karlberg, Mrs. Hielscher, and Mrs. Turrentine graciously accepted the award from the Colorado Department of Education.

The John Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools receive an "Exceeds Expectations" rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, MAY 6TH: Due to unsafe driving conditions in our area, all Eaton School District schools and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. This decision has been made with the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families as our highest priority.

We understand that school closures can be disruptive, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we respond to these conditions. Please continue to monitor district communications for any updates regarding school operations and activities.

All extracurricular activities, events, and after-school programs scheduled for Wednesday will be communicated by school leadership.

Our “Empower Hour” Building/STEM club participated in a community service project to build and deliver bird houses to Rea's Diner at Dillards. She plans on sharing them with customers that donate to her annual toy drive. She even surprised us by giving the students ice cream! Thank you Rea for being such a wonderful and supportive community partner! ❤️

Throwback to our 4th graders learning about the healthcare field! In December, students attended "Schwartz Medical School" where students visited different stations to challenge themselves and they solved problems. We are so appreciative of teachers who go the extra mile in our students learning!
