The Knox County 708 Mental Health Board voted on August 31, 2026, to release $150,000 in previously committed grant funding to Bridgeway for a new walk-in behavioral health crisis center at 95 N. Seminary St. in Galesburg.

The Knox County 708 Mental Health Board provides funding for community-based services for Knox County residents affected by developmental disabilities, mental illness, or substance use disorders.

In addition to the 708 Board's funding, Bridgeway has invested $450,000 of its own funds to purchase and prepare the building at 95 N. Seminary St., which will house the new crisis center. As a federally designated Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Bridgeway is working to expand crisis care options for adults across Knox County.

"On behalf of Bridgeway, I want to thank the Knox County 708 Mental Health Board for their continued partnership and support," said Staci Danner, Bridgeway CEO. "Their commitment will be instrumental in helping us bring walk-in crisis care to Knox County residents."

Bridgeway is still in the planning and due diligence phase for the new crisis center. An anticipated opening timeframe and hours of operation will be announced once finalized.
