Meet Crystal. She is an integral part of the Abonmarche team that is working with our local steering committee on the new master plan.

In celebrating National Community Planning Month, we asked our own Crystal Welsh, Senior Urban Planner, what inspires her when undertaking a community planning project:

"Working in partnership with stakeholders during the planning process is the most rewarding and inspiring part of my job. Listening to what they feel are the best and worst parts of their community through meaningful engagement and conversation is critical to understanding a community.

"We then find proactive ways to cooperatively promote and expand the good while developing strategies to resolve the not-so-good. Through this collaborative process, we work with the stakeholders to envision a future that not only meets their needs but also fulfills their aspirations and builds community attachment and pride."
